This provides a consistent approach to temperature monitoring, microbiological sampling, TMV testing and backflow prevention, while making it easier to keep track of what has been tested and when.
The work itself involves detailed checks. When testing a warm water TMV, technicians isolate the individual outlet and run water through a calibrated test rig until the reading stabilises. Technicians then adjust the valve to the required maximum temperature for aged care outlets, reseal it, and check it to confirm it is fully calibrated.
